If you are like me you can appreciate nature for its beauty and uniqueness for having such splendid rocks and gemstones to explore and find and dig up! Many things rocks and minerals can be found on the coastlines of all the major lakes in Michigan. Lake Huron, Lake Ontario, Lake Michigan, Lake Erie, and Lake Superior.
Many of the inland lakes can also be rich with minerals but the ebb and flow of the tides on the bigger lakes expose new minerals more frequently.
So you want Petoskey Stones and know where to find them. I have been able to find them on the shores of Lake Huron by Port Huron and north toward Lexington Michigan.
